"Free Gary Neal"

Now that I have lived in Dallas for over a year now I have been forced to get accustom with the sports fan base of the Mavs. Since being from the Sliver and Black city it's difficult to put up with some of these ignorant non sense talking maverick fans that believe that "this is their year" even though "their year" has been going on for the last 5. I always find it comical that when I mention the 4 rings we got they still have some stupid comeback line that never really goes anywhere much like a Charlie Sheen slam. FYI, if you ever walk into the AAC you will notice hanging in the rafters by the hockey banners and one or two bball division titles that they have an All Star weekend participation banner from last yr.
Well maybe someone should let them in on the secret.... every team will host the all-star game eventually and by the way the game wasn't even held at the AAC. Jerry should proudly hang that up in his dome next to his attendance record for a Super Bowl, oh wait that didn't happen, and you counted the people who bought tickets to stand outside the dome and watch it on a TV. Anyways im getting off subject of what I really want to talk about. The ticket up here is awesome and I actually do enjoy listening to them dissect the mavs and cowboys along with all the made up voices of famous athletes (Fake Jerry Jones). But, the one subject that was beaten over and over like a Dallas Police arrest was "Free Roddy Beaubois" throughout last yrs. playoffs. This was relating to always benching this guy in crucial time during Mavs games though when he was in the game he did great. Well im taking this phrase and rewording it..... "Free Gary Neal".

This is not soo much because Neal doesn't play, but because he is on the bench during crunch time while slapdick Richard Jefferson plays in-front of him and contributes nothing at the end of games much like the other first 44 mins. It's kind of sad to watch the decline of a once all-star to basically a non reliable roll player on the most unselfish team in the NBA and he still can't get his. The guy is a disease much like an STD, and unfortunately we can't get enough valtrex to make him go away. You can go back this whole season and watch the last 4 mins. of any game and you wouldn't be able to tell where he made a big shot that meant something. The guy has no confidence in anything he does on the court or off picture speaks for itself......

For a while I believed that Neal should be inserted in the starting lineup over RJ, but realized if for some rare occurrence Jefferson hits his first couple shots he can be valuable for a period of time, but he used most of those good games up in the first 10 of the season. For a short period of time made Spurs fans believe he had found his broke jump shot and wasn't a pussy anymore to drive to the basket where he used to do damage. Now spurs fans get the guy who currently has lost his confidence again and doesn't play D on the other end of the court to do anything for us other than force us to play 4 on 6 when he's on the court. I do not exaggerate on how bad he hurts the team on their stretch run heading into the playoffs. Now you have Gary Neal a 26 yr. old rookie who when he has the ball wants to score every time he has an opportunity and if you follow the team closely you know when the ball leaves his hands you know its going in most the time. Bottom line Neal wants to be out there and he averages half the mins. Jefferson does and consistently outscores, rebounds and doesn't have as many turnovers as Mr. RJ. Hopefully Pop is only messing with our emotions right now and when the marbles are on the line we won't see this guy come the last 6 to 7 mins. of any game. So play the real shooter, the guy who tries on defense and a guy who won't be seen in a fedora anywhere.

(the most worthless POS spurs player that we have overpaid, right up there with Matt Bonner. We even renegotiated with him last summer for less money and still overpaid.)

National Slapdick League

So the NFL owners better get it together and take the deal the players want or the players will all be in jail and they won't be able to have games even if they want too.  I wonder if now that the teams can't contact the players, they also can't use their power to get players off scott free when they rape girls in Georgia...hmmm.

Well the latest two stories are Aqib Talib and Dez Bryant.  The first thing I can say about these two is that spell check doesn't like their names, the second is that they are both complete knuckle heads (Charles Barkley voice).  The Cowboys and the Bucs knew what they were getting into when they drafted these guys, as there were rumors that both were complete idiots coming out of college.  Dez looks like he is in some financial trouble as he owes around $1,000,000 to various jewelers for diamond encrusted necklaces that he bought on credit and decided not to pay for.

At least he timed this well with the lockout keeping him from collecting any pay checks for a while.  Luckily North Park Mall decided they would look out for his best interests and ban him from the mall so he couldn't make any financial follies there.  Who knows what is going to happen with this guy in the next few months without the oversight of the team.  It should be comical though.  Maybe there is still time for him to get a cameo in The Hangover 2.

So then we have Aqib Talib.  This guy is from Dallas and graduated from Richardson Berkner.  I am a little surprised that I don't remember hearing about him in high school since he is local and apparently was really good.  Maybe he was never academically eligible.  Well after Berkner he went on to become an All-American at Kansas where he earned a degree in being a slapdick.  His latest achievement is getting into a dispute with his sisters boyfriend.  Talib and his mother were arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (mother of the year?).  Apparently Talib fired shots and tried to pistol whip this guy n Garland a few weeks ago.  I am not quite sure but I feel like you have to be some how impaired to be close enough to pistol whip someone and not only fail at that but then miss them with a few shots.  What do you think?

Naa he looks like he is completely alert.  Well needless to say it is pretty likely he is going to jail.  But that just sets us up for his triumphant return in 5 years to become one of the best players in the league right?  History seems to repeat itself.

WHY WE STRUGGLE THROUGH WINTER

I woke up this morning with a quiet excited-ness about me that I haven't experienced in years. The last time may have been the first day of high school. The night before is a restless sleep, full of wonderment about the upcoming day and the beginning of an exciting time. Well, I awoke with much the same feeling today. There was nothing too special about this day that should stir such a feeling, nothing grand that is happening or even noteworthy to mention in the blog today.

I could only muster up one idea, an idea which hit me like a snow storm and would not leave my mind all day. I was excited, not because I got a new loofa, which is always a good day indeed. My shower this morning was so fresh, if you don't use loofas, you are missing out on what could be the best part of any shower. It is not only the best way to get rid of dead skin cells, but beyond that, it feels as though Helen of Troy is washing your body herself. It is something grand, do not hate... try it.

It is hard to put into words the beauty in which I am about to tell you. Imagine you were a kid and you realized that every imaginable friend you had was real; and everyone athlete you pretended to be was not a coke addicted sex addict, instead every perfect thing about this world was actually real and attainable. To sum up in a few short words what has begun to come upon the world would not do favor to the true situation at hand. For, the only reason we all suffer through those cold winter nights; the days of torture while beautiful women are covered up head to toe with parkas and rain boots. That is right gentlemen....SUNDRESS SEASON HAS COMMENCED!!

The season of sundresses has got to be a favorite of mine. I refuse to call it spring or summer, it does not do justice. SUNDRESS season gives men reason to leave the house. It shows us that putting up with gloomy winter days and cold winter nights does pay off in the end. The girls shed their winter coats and out blossoms such sexy and scantily clad sundresses.

All of our hopes are strung on the fact that a summer breeze will carelessly lift up that loose fabric just enough to see what it is they are playfully hiding. Not too much, but just enough to bring a smile to your face, and adjust your belt as needed. The season is upon us, do not let these days pass so easily. Do not be rude and discourteous to that fact that all these women put on these simple dresses not to stay cool in the summer sun. But rather to give us whiplash so bad that only a shot of whiskey and codein could settle down the pain.

Enjoy this time of year, winter comes too quick.

Instagraming

A cool app. that I was just exposed to over the past week for the iphone is Instagram. It is basically a twitter that lets you share whats happening in your life through photos. You have followers and you can follow others. The really neat thing about the app. is the features of photo shop which allow you to change the appearance of the pictures you post. You can either take a pic. with the app. or upload from your iphone photos. It gives you 15 different filters to change the appearance and then you can tilt by tapping the photo to focus on certain objects.

Overall I rate this app. a B+, only because there is certainly room for improvement and Im sure over time the upgrades will evolve Instagram. Whats nice about this thing is that it doesn't have the "facebook status updates" that I could care less about what anyone wants to share about what they are doing at a particular time. However, im not a fan of how to navigate to other users or your own page, but maybe thats because im so used to the evil of facebook. Anyhow thought I would share a recommended app. and if you want to follow me you can find me at bigozzy.

Sun Dresses

So I know i haven't put anything up here since we went to the opening night showing of Land Before Time 19, Little Foot Goes to Venus, but I just didn't have anything to write about.  Unfortunately I can't write about sundresses because screech already claimed that, I just wanted to piss him off when he read the title.

I am really beginning this without any subject in mind so I would go into this expecting very little.  Treat it like a date with T.O.   ("Triple Distilled" T.O. not "Get Your Popcorn Ready" T.O.)

Hopefully everyone enjoyed the angry birds song.  I had been messing around with those chords for ages and couldn't get anything of quality.  Then I was sitting out at the lake and muse hit me and I started singing about the iphone game.  and that is how the [future] hit was born.  It is amazing the low level entertainment that the iphone provides.  I mean can you get much simpler than sling shotting birds at pigs?  I guess that is pretty creative but it sure is simple.

That makes you think about a lot of things that people make a lot of money with.  A lot of it is total bull shit and they just end up lucky being at the right place at the right time.  Really music can be like that.  It is amazing the amount of talented people who just play in the coffee shop or in their living room and the amount of talentless people that are just created by the record companies....ahem country music.

It is always incredibly fun to find artists that really have a lot to offer that just don't get all that much publicity.  A local band that you should check out is The Orbans (previously The Lifters but apparently they lifted that name from someone and got sued).  The Orbans are from the Dallas-Ft. Worth area and have this alternative rock sound that also has some bluegrass type influence in the instrumentation.  They really have some good songs (nothing as good as Angry Bird) and have a really original sound.

Peter Black is the lead singer (who unfortunately didn't have his priorities straight and is now having a baby instead of touring) and main writer [edit: apparently they are playing SXSW so maybe they will begin playing again].  The lyrics provide an interesting mix.  Some songs are very easy to follow and are very catchy.  Others are nearly nonsensical and make it hard for me to decide if they are brilliant and I am not quite getting it or if they are just on a lot of drugs while they write them.

Either way you should check them out. http://www.theorbans.com/ A very solid local band and a great show once they start playing gigs again.  I don't know if people are that interested but I am pretty passionate about music and I will likely introduce some more bands in the future (if you are not interested, too fucking bad).

Angry Bird

His version of what the Angry Birds Theme song should be.
